Default Bennet Trim Tabs

I have read several of the threads regarding the Bennet trim tabs and plan on buying a set for a 1974 20'cc with a 175hp mercury. The Bennet information says the M-80 sport tabs are for 17' to 20' boats and the M-120 sport tabs are for 20' and larger does anyone have any thoughts on which would be better on a 20'boat? Is bigger better in this case?

I had m-120s and that was the right size for the 20 foot hull. In the case of tabs, bigger is better than smaller.

Hap, search the user list for Tabbman, send him a PM. I sure he'd be happy to help.

Thanks for the information. For anyone in the Seabrook NH area, BoatUs has M120's for $330 on sale and the M80s for around $320, I thought that was a good price.

Vezo, I hope to be getting one this weekend, thanks for the information and your help.

Can anyone tell me how I can either donate or become a menber to help support this site?

Oh Yeah! Buy 4 "HDS Potter Built" from each year. That's 1969 thru 1980. Then when you finally get your SeaCraft (what ever year you snag) you'll be ready to rock

A $1.00 for each sold goes to the site ---> "HDS"

There is an article in this months Sport Fishing talking about Trim tabs. I havent read it (I think its about their use) As mentioned go with the largest tab thats practical (that will fit the boats transom) ... There are several old posts talking about tabs where Tom (Tabman from Bennett) gave recommendations on sizing for the 20 and 23’s

I finalized my deal tonight it looks like I will have a 1974 20'cc. I pick up the boat on Saturday. So it looks like I will need some decals.

Now I am really happy
