Default FRESH WATER TANK

Has anyone installed a water tank underneath the console in the old potty hole? If so what size? How does it work under there? Thanks RS.

Ha ReelSmoker
I have a Potter 23 CC and put a 15 gal fresh water tank under the CC works great and more then enough water for a day’s fishing trip plus cleaning stuff during the day. I don’t think you can put much more than that in there without using up a lot of space. I have never drained the entire tank in any one day.
How’s the fishing down there on the reef lately? I will me in the middle keys first week in June fishing the edge of the reef and around the 409 hump.

Hey Fellowship thanks for the respond I almost forgot I posted this? I actually picked up a 15 gallon Todd tank and was thinking of going bigger thinking that it might not be enough. Where are the connections on yours on the side or the top? Did you have to drill new holes? Did you lay it side ways in there? How does it effect water in the bilge when tank is full?
Im going thru washdown pumps every year and a half, this should make them last longer. Im also going to put the washdown pump under the console versus inside the transom.
Reef fishing has been off this last week but later on next week being new moon it should get better.Maybe we can hook up in June, remind me when your headed down, thanks RS.

What about putting the tank forward in the front storage compartment? I'm thinking of filling the v space and even cutting the liner out for more room.

HA REELSMOKER
My connections for fill and air vent are on the side and I mounded it on its side with those connections at the right top part of the tank. I then went to a hardware store and got a hose from the kitchen sink department that looks kind a like a fancy straw with those indentations for bending the straw and it remaining with the curve that you bent (I think it is was designed for the U shape trap in the sink) male and female threads made of plastic I cut the female part off and on the other end with the male threaded I pointed it up then I picked up a screw top for it from the sprinkler system threaded ends which fit it perfectly just needed a hose clam and that part done. On the vent I used a brass 90o angle and pointed it up as well to vent the tank. I fill the tank to approx four fifth from the top to prevent splashing out the vent in ruff seas if you extend the vent with a tube upward you should not have any water coming out the vent if you fill all the way up.

Ha Generaider
The guy that owned my boat before me had a 15 gal tank in that compartment. He used it for balance due to twin 200 on the transoms with no bracket. I guess it helped but I never was in it on a run to tell you if it was a good move or not.
