Default How does this come off?

Does the wood center cap on the steering wheel just pry off? Or maybe there is a special incantation I need to use. Moderate prying pressure did not work and I wondered if there is something else to it. I thought I'd ask before breaking out the crow bar. Thanks for your help.

Some wheels have an allen set screw holding the cap in place...check between each spoke for a small allen head screw.

Roger

TEX is right, check for the little set screw, although mine is bumped in with chaulk and a rubber mallet. Those teak inserts are easy to get if you have to replace it

BTW: According to your fish finder thats a Nice "Hump" your passing over when you shot that picture

What they said....

More often than not, they fall out before they stay in.

That shot was taken in my driveway. Now you know why I practice fly casting in the street (I see the best fish when in demo mode)

Anyway, thanks to all for the heads up on the insert removal.

Hello, Roger. I always enjoy shots of your MA. Identical. My 1980 Whaler has a very similar wheel and the, I believe mahogoney center piece, was always slipping out of the wheel. No set screws. It now has two part epoxy and five coats of varnish so far. Want it? Just kiddin'. Take care. Vezo.
