Default Flukin in June / Attention all NE flukers

If you reference the post "A Connecticut Get Together" under the gatherings section you will find a tentative meeting/fluke tournament four Sat June 4 of this year, so we can check out each others boats and get some fishing in.

What I am trying to do is find out how many people and boats are planning on showing up and a consensus on the date. I have been watching some of the fishing reports and it seems with the cold winter the fluke bite is starting off slow, should we push back the day? Any replies would be apreciated, I would like to see as many people and boats there as we can. Thanks guys.

Hey Brian, It's definitely been a slow start for fluke. Unless you have an unbelievable Striped Bass bite with big Weakfish and gorilla Bluefish mixed in, I think we could push the date back if needed. Unless too many people already planned for that weekend, it would be good to ensure some warmer weather. You mentioned you were busy later in June so if the 18th isn't good then we might have to wait until July. Hopefully the temps will be above 60 by then. I'd fish in a searobin tourney tommorrow just to get out! Talk to you later. Jim

I think we should stick to the date for now and maybe change a week or so in advance if the water does not warm up. I have a wedding to attend on June 11, but after that I am free. I was not able to fish the shark tournaments this year so those weekends are free also (late June). What I would like to see are a few more guys step up with suggestions. I assume most guys are fishing or working on boats instead of sitting on the computer. Which is how it should be. So all you flukers speak up.

Any other interested parties out there? The fluke bite has been slow on the CT side along with low water temps, thinking about pushing the date to the 25 or 26 of June.
Any comments?

Are you a member of CT fisherman and Noreast.com. I read post about 20 ft sea craft fishing Montauk last weekend. I'd join you but boat isn't ready yet. We owned 23 ft IO in 70's and an 18 ft OB now.

I have been having problems with my VRO on my whitewater hope to have it sorted out by Sat. If you are trailering, you can use Peir 76 boat ramp which is next to Bills Seafood near the Singing Bride in Westbrook on Route 1. If you need a hand let me know or have questions. My Cell phone number is 860-638-7420. CSC guys can call in regards to Sat or during fishing on Sat if you want to meet out on the water.

Regards to fluking. I went out once managed a bluefish and one skate. I think the secret this time of year is to use smaller baits. Flies and devceiver like things off the Bucktails. Feel free to call.
