cable cover???
I was wondering where I could get my hands on some of that plastic covering the boat manufacturers use to make the shift cables look nice when going from the well to the entrance on the engine cowl. Is it something you can find at a local shop or is something that has to be ordered? I was also looking to get a rubber boot to seal the opening in the well where the cables come through and a stainless steering cable cover (like the one hammer used on his 20' project) to pretty up the hole where the teleflex steering cable comes through the deck to make the turn towards the motor. Thanks guys!

Re: cable cover???
Andrew,
Armstrong sells the cable covers for only $30. They're not listed on the web site, but shoot them an email and they'll get back to you. www.armstrongnautical.com |

Re: cable cover???
great advice guys! Is either one of those covers any better than the other? I saw the one from the outdoor supply place had the threaded flange and an end for the motor side of the cover to make it look clean. Does the Armstrong one come with that also? Thanks again guys!

Re: cable cover???
I ordered 2 from the outdoor supply link you gave me. They look great and well thought out. The cover threads into the deck flange and also has a boot that makes the outboard end of the cover look clean going into the cowling of the motor. I will let you guys know how they work out. They are made by TH Marine I believe. Thanks again!

Re: cable cover???
I bet Armstrong get's them from TH marine.
Now you can also get them thru Surplus Unlimited. Look in their Donavan Catalog. They are the only one's that have the Chrome Plated plastic flange that fitt's the hose. I have 2 of the chrome one's for my transom and the Black one's that will mate the rigging hose from the electronic's overhead box to the console. I don't want the sun reflecting off of chrome up there. |

Re: cable cover???
Here's a dumb question. How do you thread the motor cables through the rigging? Do you disconect from the motor end or from the console? Thanks.

Re: cable cover???
Motor end.
The rigging hose threads into the flange with a lefthand thread. |
