Default Recessed Storage

Is there anything behind the inter-shell of my '83 20'cc that would prevent me from putting some recessed storage in along the last half of the boat?

RC, If it's like my 72', there is nothing behind the liner in the gunnel but foam. But there isn't very much depth.
Let us know how you make out, I could use more storage also.

The 2005 west marine catalog has some new recessed storage items that would work well in the gunnels, I think they are made by SSI. one was an rectangualr compartment with a bungi net, would also allow access to the cap for throgh bolting rod holders etc. I believe they have one with a access door as well. They are made from plastic but look pretty good in the catalog.

I was checking those out as well to use on my 23'. I was checking out the tackle center setups though. Let me know how they work out and maybe some pics to check out your work.
