Default '05 23' CC with a single140hp Suzi?????

I stopped at the Local travis boating center to look at a new 23' in Fighting Lady Yellow. Nice. The motor that came with the boat was a SINGLE 140 4 stroke Suzuki. ????????? What gives? That's a 3070lb hull that many would consider a 200hp V6 as a minimum. What kind of top speed could you expect 30-32mph? I know my own 23 cc with twin 115's can only do 14 knots WOT with one motor tilted out of the water. What are these guys thinking?

Strange. I had a coil plug come loose on my 225, and my boat wouldn't even get on plane, this thing has got to be a pig

Thats where seacraft is at these days The only thing ive seen more embarrasing than that was at the Ft Lauderdale boat show where Sea Fox was displaying their 23 with a single 125 merc.Boy I hope this is not where bps/travis is taking our beloved Seacraft

EDLOH,

I cannot get my boat on plain easily with one motor. I need 1/2 tab and wot just to get about 4200rpm's and 14mph. If I was offshore and needed to get home with one motor a 19" or 17" prop would alow my 115 to build a little more hp up the powerband and maybe turn 5000 rpm's or so and I am only guessing 18-21 kts at max.

I dunno what travis was thinking. In my book a 225hp is about right as a minimum and a 250 hp is the sweet spot.

I suppose it would get up on plane... probably about a 20mph cruise, 25ish top end. Not enough power.
