Default Need help with Bait box plumbing?

1986 23' WA cuddy has a box in the floor @ the transom. 12 volt wiring is in the box. It has 1 pvc pipe in the rear bottom of the box. There's a valve in the transom that lets water in or out of the box.
Is ther supposed to be a bilge or areator pump in this box? Thre is a bilge pump with a long hose to go over the transom in there now.

Based on your description of the setup, you don't need an aerator in the box since one of the openings will let water in for circulation and the other will let water out. That bilge pump going over the side brings in the fresh water.
