Default Mounting Outboard

I am looking for some kind of an outboard motor template. I am going to mount the single 98 225 Merc but the boat had twins before. What is the best way to get template for this install?

Thanks!

John

Spidey - looks like your techer's pet has had some sag over time and that the receptacle has dropped a couple inches below spec...

No, I'm looking to drill THRU wood, not with wood

BTW - It's a 23

You mean like this.

Brother Rick comes thru again. Instead of making the engine mount pattern full size for me on paper, he built a drill fixture.

The drill bushing is removeable to stick in each hole.
The 2 hole's in the center of the panel are for center alignment.

That was too much. Thanks spidey.

Anyhow, check the merc website or dealer because that is CRITICAL!

When I had my transom rebuilt the dealer I buy my motors from let me borrow his template. It looked pretty similar to the steel one posted. It had sleeves about 2" long so that the drill bit was held in alignment.
