Default Barcone

There is a boat on Ebay November 18 similar to a 20' Seacraft called a Barcone. Seller says it is the same hull as the Potter design. Anyone ever heard of a Barcone? Needs work in Jupiter, FL.

The pics of the bottom didn't look like a SeaCraft to me.

That's funny!! I could see it if you squint your eyes and turn your head far to opposite side, but please, that's not even close to being a Seacraft.

I had one of these for 24 years. It is a Continental Barcone model. The company went out of business in the 80's. They were in Hialea (sp) Florida. I bought the boat new in 79 and kept it for 24 years. I had a 140 Johnson on it for 19 years and a 150 Johnson for the last 5 years. The boat was very economical to run. I would put 50 miles per trip on it for 16 gallons of gas. The hull was well made. It had a weakness in the bow where the waves first hit that I repaired. The hull is not as stiff as a seacraft. The ride is not that great(low deadrise), especially where I live where we deal with a constant 2-3 ft chop. It got to where I needed a few asparin at the end of every trip. I sold my 79 Continental Barcone on ebay 2 years ago for ~$8000 with a 97 150 Ocean Pro and galv trailer. I sold it after I rode in a 23 ft seacraft. I bought a 1971 23ft seacraft which burns more fuel and is a never ending upgrade but the ride is sooo nice. The Barcone was a wet boat. You were always getting sprayed. The Barcone draws very little water and I could cut across flats I wouldn't dream about with the Seacraft. I made boats in my younger life and the Barcone is well made. After 24 years the transom did not show a single stress crack in the gelcoat. The gelcoat was not the highest quality so it fadded out long ago.

Thanks to everyone. I emailed the owner(seller) and got the hull number and knew it was not a Seacraft. Just never heard of the boat in my area of the gulf coast. Have been looking for a 20 to "partially" restore. Thanks, B. Wood, Mobile ,AL
