Default Need some feed back please.

Yesterday, my wife and I were informed by our doctor that we are going to have twins.

Many of you know that I took possession of an early 70's 20 ft Sea Craft a couple of months ago and have posted pictures of it on this website. Due to the arrival of the twins in a few months and the amount of time and money that is going to be involved with them, my wife and I have decided to get rid of the SC 20 and see if we could make a few bucks from it. I have a friend that is willing to come down here from Pt Charlotte and take it if the price is right. I was wondering if you guys think that I can get at least $500 for boat and trailer. The boat needs a new deck and the trailer needs new leaf springs and bearing kit for one tire (i already replaced the other). Over all, the hull of the boat is in great shape and I would think that $500 is a steal...although I got if for a steal. Let me know what you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Luis

Yaaa...

Can anyone tell us what $500 would be worth, if put in a well managed fund, when the twins are 18? It may be your best investment ever...

Congrats on the twins Luis!

My twin girls will be 5 this year. It's an "interesting" road.

Just so you are forewarned, when you are changing one, be ready to immediatly change the other one. It's like they are in sync with each other!

Congrats on the twins!!!

...and yeah, that's a steal. I wish I could pick one up for that price!!! If you are gonna have twins though, you better ask for more than $500

I have 7 month old twin boys, you will want to get into the garage...trust me...the restoration will just take longer. I am just now getting back to the boat and buying new equipment.
My boat is fishable it started as a $400 hull only. I plan on doing one major project a year during the winter (paint hull, new deck, build new console, etc). Just take it slow and the project can go on.

If the boat is a dream of yours do not give it up.

There are twin/multiple support groups in most communities...your wife should join now...they have garage sales and members get first crack at all the used twin stuff (2 of everything).

Life goes on it is really not that diffrent.

I agree with JW. I have two girls, not twins, 1 and 3, but in the overall scheme of things 500 is not all that much. If you have a place to store it I would hold on to it. I had both my children on the boat befor they were 1. Start them early. What ever you decide, congradulations on the twins.

Thanks guys!

I'd love to hold on to it but I can't. The problems with keeping it are:
1. No place to store it
2. Already have a 2005 23 Sea Craft
3. My current house is a 2/1 900 Sq ft house and that is going to be an ongoing project...at least if my wife gets her way.

I know $500 isn't much, but I got the boat for a lower price and my wife doesn't just want to give it away. $500 can start some kind of savings accont or buy a few months supply of diapers I spoke to my friend and he said that sounded like a fair price. So thanks for the input.
