Sunday Report
Well fellas, I headed out Sunday afternoon for a ride and a little fishing. The afternoon didnt get started as I planned, it wasnt long after I headed offshore that I realized that my stern cusion had gone a-wall on me I went back for the little deserter, but had no luck. As far as the boat is concerned she ran great but its obvious she's got the wrong prop on there Yamy Saltwater Series (3) blade (21p), it would get it out of the whole in a hurry but I wouldnt pick up no more than 4200rpm's, completely trimmed 4700rpm's, the previous owner is going to swap it out for me, I think a (17p) is the one, any advise or comments on what you guys are running would be great. Oh by the way the fishing was ok, several tails, mangroves, and a mutton only fished for about an hour.

Re: Sunday Report
Remind us what your power is, 225 or 250? Most with 225's run 15x17 which is what I had on my boat 7 years ago. I tried a 14 1/4 x 19 but could only get 5200 rpm's and the hole shot was bad.

Re: Sunday Report
Say, from where in Miami do you launch? I'm thinking of a short trip soon to check out some things, maybe we can meet somewhere out there?

Re: Sunday Report
Botapeje, I usually launch out of Sundays on the bay/crandon park, when fishing further south I like to come out of Homestead Bayfront. Give me a shout when you plan to be in the area and we can try to hook up.

Re: Sunday Report
I had a 225 Johnson and at 4k rpm's I was doing about 23kts and wot about 35kts. Don't know fuel burn. IMO a 225 didn't do it for me. If I went with a single the 250 Suzi would be my choice but for now my twin 115's are all the motor I need. Nearly flawless for 5 years now.

Re: Sunday Report
Brian thanks for the info I'll keep you posted as to what happens after the swap, I plan on putting her back into the water this weekend.
Nestor, I never realized you were from down here, you know we South Fl boys are the minority on here, the NE fellas have us outnumbered Where do you do most of your fishing? Out of Pacific heading south or north to Fowey. There are some nice grouper holes in the Pacific area

Re: Sunday Report
I know, I just realized that myself, that's why I asked where you launch from! We need to stick together down here, there's not many of us!! I usually head out Caesar's Creek out to the first large buoy (I think that's Pacific Reef but my charts are on the boat so I'm not sure right now) and then troll from there north to Fowey Rocks and then back down but I'm still very new on this area so I'm still learning my way around the fishing grounds. I usually follow the 150-200 feet depth looking for the usual gamefish out here. It's been OK but not awesome like it can be, and I've been experimenting with lures instead of bait but so far only a few False Albacore and some dolphin, no billfish yet. I guess I haven't found that perfect trolling speed yet! I'd like to do some deep bottom fishing also but haven't tried it yet, maybe we can gou out sometime and you can show me some spots you might not mind sharing!
