My 78 Master Angler

A few weeks ago the Grady got a little sister in the form of this 78 20 Master Angler. Plan s for this rig are a new deck, new transom (raised 5 inches) and the top-cap will be recored, reglassed and glassed to the hull.

Generally speaking cameras don't do paint jobs justice! In this case the opposite is true, the boat looks really good in the first photo, but in actuality the former owner did a poor paint job on it.

Enjoy. Work will start in a few weeks after the Grady White gets splashed.

Thanks Trayder...I can't wait to start on my project but I'm forcing myself to get the Grady in the water and run some offshore wreck trips.

Honestly speaking I'm not crazy about the splashwell..I think it takes up too much room and hope to add a sliding starboard splashwell...or maybe I'll engineer something else. We have time to see. I can guarantee you guys one thing...PLENTY OF BOAT PORN TO COME!

Welcome to the Grady/Seacraft family. I have a 1993 23 Grady Gulfstream with twin 150 Yamahas and recently purchased a 1974 20 SF on a whim. So now I'm trying to decide whether I keep the two. Today it's yes. Glad to see someone else with multiple boats!

Mine was also "purchased on a whim". Keep both of them, or at least move up to a larger Grady after your done with the SC restoration. That way you will have an inshore boat and a offshore boat.

When I first looked at the pic's I said the same thing about the splashwell, I agree maybe just a flat well door with bunge's when you need to trim, teak would be a nice touch

Looks like that splash well could dub in for a port a potty in a pinch. You could mount the t- paper right on the side.

Just kidding enjoy your new boat you will love it.

I like your thinking or rationalization on 2 boats! One for inshore one for offshore. That is how I'm selling it to my wife! Good luck with the restoration. My 20 is in the garage at the moment. It's starting to come back together.

Now that my Grady White's done I can put her into the water and start seriously working on the SC again. I have a few more glass related things to do and then I final fair, sand and get her to paint. I'll post a link to my project page later.
