Default '85 Sceptre: Electronics Mounting

Hello,
Just added a 1985 Sceptre to go with my '77 20'I/O. Need to replace all of the electronics and am wondering if anyone has any idea on how to organize the dash space to flush mount a chartplotter, DF, and VHF on the Sceptre. Would prefer to avoid bracket mounting if I can do something more secure and attractive. Has a bimini so can't overhead mount a box. Am thinking I will have to build a box out of StarBoard behind the compass and secure to the dash. If anyone has worked this out, please let me know what the best solution is. Pictures would be great.
Thanks.

Default Re: '85 Sceptre: Electronics Mounting

I have a similar issue with my '78 23' Sceptre. I had a helm-side box fabricated out of aluminium to house my GPS/chartplotter, speed/depth and engine instruments. Still need more space for radar, fishfinder, VHF, etc., so am thinking of a "mirror image" unit on the port side. To see pictures, go to SeaCraft Gallery, and look at Chris Downey's 23' - there are a couple of helm shots.
