Is the fuel tank pickup fitting an easy thing to remove and check. I have the fuel hatch out on my 23-having some fuel delivery issues upon waking up for the spring and I'd love to be able to check that pickup. I just don't know anything about pulling it out. It's an older tank and I'm a little concerned about breaking the fitting if I try to remove it, but I'm assuming there's some kind of screen or something on the other side of the pickup.

The fitting probably has a anti-siphon check valve in it which can get pluged by stuf. Some people have been known to remove this safety feature.

On an older tank the pickup tube is an aluminum tube welded to the female pipe threads, all you will be able to remove is the fitting. Todays tanks usually have a plastic tube attached to the fitting that are easily replaced.
