Wiring Help..

I have a 23 1984 sceptre, It seems that the wiring from the Helm area to the batts is all original and it has been giving me trouble. I Paid a mechanic to replace the batts and batt wires and Switch but he did not want to get involved any further. Does any one have experience rewiring the accesories and Bilge pump and float switch, trim tabs etc. I'm looking for a proven plan of attack. Thank you for the help.
