Default New 18' SC in Trayders' neighborhood

After several years of enjoying this fine site (thank you Jason!)I finally acquired a 1990 18'SC with same year 115 Evinrude. Having fun getting her in shape. Removed all the factory hull graphics. Boy were they ugly. Removed the kicker bracket which was securely fastened with 10 lag screws and 2 threw bolts. Replaced the old rubber scupper valves with new rubber scupper valves, So far no water on the deck issues. Replaced all the frozen rusted bolts on the trailer suspension. Replaced 13 1/4 x 17 prop with 13 3/4 x 15. Anyway, glad to be a vested member of the site. Hope to meet some of the you at the Jazz Festival.

Congrats on the new Boat.

How about joining us up in Chatham? I think 2-3 of us on the Island will be going.

Where did you find your new 18?

Sounds nice

Trayder, Thanks for the kind words. Chatham? You mean leave the island? Sounds great but can't commit yet. Found the boat at Point Jude Boats in Wakefield, RI. Owned by a sailboater who didn't fish. Decals in cockpit suggest it was fished in GA. It would be great if you could see it. Could use your opinion and advise on a few matters.
Thanks, Mike

I don't think a 15" prop will be enough, I had one with a 115 merc.

Egg Thanks for reply on prop.Boat came with 13.25 x 17. Would only turn 5000rpm and 30mph. With 3.75 x 15 (prop from 17 Proline) it turned 5300 rpm and 32 mph with better acceleration. What should I try Next? Power is 1990 115hp Evinrude.
