New Deck Question ?
I bought a 20' CC from fellow CSC member Luis. I am in the process of replaceing the deck. I have the deck cut out. I was hoping to find out if it is best to sand the gel coat down to the glass on were the old meets the new. I was told that would provide a better bond. Could some one tell me if that is true. Any other words of advice would from others that have already done this would be appreciated.

Re: New Deck Question ?
Who ever told you that is right. Definitly plan on doing some grinding to get the best adhesion for the glass work. for the old to the new just make it as poress as possible 24 -50 grit on a grinder works nice.

Re: New Deck Question ?
Make sure you grind at least 4 inches into the area you
are going to lay the glass on to. This way you can fair it out better. Raw glass has the best bond when clean. Wipe with Acetone after washing the ground area. Polyester or Epoxy resin is your next decission. Good Luck! See ya, Ken

Re: New Deck Question ?
but don't grind too far into the glass mat.. you lose 50% of the strenght of the old work
