1986 23 CC seacraft
would a 1986 23 CC be CYS or tracker?I no the change was around that time. Looking at a 1986 23 CC for my nephew seacraft Steve.Trying to figure the value. The boat is basic with 1994 ocean pro still running,Basic VHF and bottom machine, nice rocket launcher that is newer, bimini top,and new tank,no trailer. Boat has some soft spots in deck and the transom appears OK but im sure will need replacment at the next repower.I would consider this a running project boat.Any input on value? Thanks Keith

Re: 1986 23 CC seacraft
Some questions first.
1. Size of engine & compression? 2. Does it come with any electrnics? 3. Does it have a t top? 4. How big are the soft spots?

Re: 1986 23 CC seacraft
engine 200 HP,dont no compression yet, Bimini top, 2 soft spots port of tank cover in area of leaning post floor mount.will be taking a better look this weekend.Seems to me even with decent compression I would be looking at hull value only,Is this correct.Thinking around $5000.00 to $6000,00.Old electronics not worth much. Thanks Keith

Re: 1986 23 CC seacraft
If you can get a couple of years out of the engine $5k to $6k would be a steal (IMHO).

Re: 1986 23 CC seacraft
here is the manufacturer by year list that I lifted from a Capt Chuck posting.
Maybe this will help you. SEC = SeaCraft Inc (Potter 1969 thru 5/80) csy = Carribbean Sailing Yachts (1980-1982 23'& 27' SeaCrafts only) SIC = SeaCraft Industries Corp (1980 thru 1987 other SeaCraft Models) (Potter on Board of Directors approx 1 year after sale) TXY = Sarasota Marine Corp ('86-'88 csy Parent Co) SIC = Tracker SeaCraft of Fla (1987 thru 1990) all models SXC = Stern Craft Corp (1994 Silver King Parent then Tracker Parent Co in 1995) MIC = Silver King Boats (1994-2002 Mako Marine Parent Co) MRK = Mako Marine (2002 Parent Co SeaCraft from Tracker)

Re: 1986 23 CC seacraft
Keith
CSY Corp took the mold and the tooling for the 23'& the 27' models ONLY over to tampa for approx 1 year. Don't be so hiped over CSY. They had problems also. Look your potential buy over real good and get a survey if your unsure. There is a real reliable surveyor in Hobe Sound. PM me is your intesested Your Hull Id will tell you by whom and when (year) your hull was manufactured. It is hard to get the exact month and day companies acquire each other as these business dealings take place over time. I went back over all the "time line" posts that I could find and came up with this list that several SeaCrafters have been able to muster: SEC = SeaCraft Inc (Potter 1969 thru 5/80) CSY = Carribbean Sailing Yachts (1980-1982 23'& 27' SeaCrafts only) SIC = SeaCraft Industries Corp (1980 thru 1987 other SeaCraft Models) (Potter on Board of Directors approx 1 year after sale) TXY = Sarasota Marine Corp ('86-'88 CSY Parent Co) SIC = Tracker SeaCraft of Fla (1987 thru 1990) all models SXC = Stern Craft Corp (1994 Silver King Parent then Tracker Parent Co in 1995) MIC = Silver King Boats (1994-2002 Mako Marine Parent Co) MRK = Mako Marine (2002 Parent Co SeaCraft from Tracker)
