Default 1970 19' bowrider progress.

Got alot of work done on the girl the last two days. Thgought maybe the pourable transom material would come today. But I guess it will come tomorrow when I have to work and its supposed to rain.

Got the outter skin reglassed in since I changed my mind and im going to go with a bracket from http://dadmarine.com/pictures__info1.htm for $700

Since I wanted to have the area where the bracket is going to be mounted to have extra reenforcement I started glassing in the below deck portion with a waxed form. So far it has two layers of 6oz woven mat, two layers of chop mat and one layer of 24oz woven mat. I am gonna add the same amout before I begin the pour and more after the pour if im not happy with it.

Well I got the mold finished earlier and for somereason my computer will mot recogize my sony camera but here are few cameraphone shots. The first one is what it would look like if you could see it from outside the back of the boat. The second one gives a decent idea on how big the live well is gonna be. The live well will be the size of the inner molds outside surfaces. The third picture is of the composite transom material.

Nice work on the live well. Looks like a custom job that one of the guys from the bertram 31 site sells for those boats. There's some pretty good building tips on that site too. Keep us posted on the transom. I'm interested to see how that stuff works out. -will

Looking Good gigolot. You're well on your way.

May I make a sugestion that you use some form of laminent to form the mold of the inside of your live well into an oval shape. Live bait DO NOT like square corners

Yea I wanted to make it round, but in order to keep in under the gunnel it has to be small and its too small to try to make round.I plan to 5200 some 1/3 pieces of large pvc pipe if it becomes a problem.
new pictures from yesterday and today from the sony camera.

Didn't get to take the forms off because I wanted the material to setup good then it got dark. So monday I will take the forms off when I get home from work.

with the forms off. I did the transom and live well all at the same time so it can be considered one piece. (Next time)I do this I am not gonna glass the forms before hand because there are a couple air pockets I want to fill. All in all this appears to be a fantastic product that is solid as a rock as you can see with me standing on the livewell while its not glassed in and its only about 1/2" thick except on the front where the form bowed a little.

It was all poured in, four five gallon buckets about 45minutes between buckets like the transomrepair.com site said to wait because of exothermic reactions. Other than that I did the pour a little different. I glassed the forms and tucked the new unrosined glass behind the old glass, I am gonna glass it in again and make a sandwich out of the old glass, after payday. My boat work budget for this month is spent.I would suggest this to anyone doing work on their boat. I have replaced the transom on my other boat before with wood and when I do it again it will be with seacast so it won't ever have to be done again.
