Cable Ducts?

Hopefully someone can set me straight before I cut a hole where I shouldn't. Are there rigging ducts running aft on the 23 cc from the console on both sides of the console? There are two raised boxes under the console and one of them has been cut open and all of the wiring running aft has been routed through this duct, which is on the starboard side. The one on the port side has never been cut, so I am wondering if it in fact leads to a duct. If so, I'd like to use it to run the wiring for my tabs if I add them this year.

There is nothing except the two raised boxes that allow any wiring to run between the stringers on the opposite side of the gas tank. Some guys have installed PVC 90o elbows and then PVC pipe that run down to the transom area. I just installed new PVC 90o elbows and that’s it.

Look at "The Irish Princess" pics under 23' Seacraft pictures. If those are original they're on both sides.

Exactly thepic I was looking for. I just wanted to make sure that, if there is a duct on the port side, that it is separate from where the fuel fill hose runs before I cut through it. From that picture, it looks like there are two on the port side.

Mine has PVC on both sides.

Be sure to use a sweep at both ends not a 90 elbow
Under 3 inch pipe you can use plumbing sweeps.
4 inch and up you have use an electrical sweep.
Cables and hoses pull much easier with the sweeps.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Amen! We call them Rigging tubes.

Anytime you are going to replace them step up in size. Put the biggest you can fit in there.

Mine have been changed that I have 2 running down the STB side due to my boat's new configuration. I have a 4in and a 3in in there.

You will thank yourself for doing this when it's time to rig the boat.

Today we put a LOT more stuff on boat's than yesteryear.

Help to make your life easier down the road. I used S&D pipe. That's Sewer & Drain. It's thinner PVC and you can get it at the home building stores.
