My SF 18 ....... Pics at last!
I finally got around to figuring out how to post pics. With most of my personal time spent working on the boat, it's taken a while.
I haven't gotten pics of what's been done yet, will try to do that this week, but I thought I'd at least post the pics I took when I first went to pick her up. .... should offer a good before & after look. From the looks of the trailer, I was a bit worried about the 15 minute trip home from where I picked it up from. Darlene |

Re: My SF 18 ....... Pics at last!
Those were the pics that made it look as good as it could, lol.......
Here's the ones that tell the rest of the story. On a side note, Saturday was our first fishing trip in it. All we got was 1 barracuda, nothing to bring home for dinner. I have a lot more to learn about fishing than about fixing up old boats. Darlene |

Nice boat. I agree, though. Working on boats is easy, fishing is hard - no, scratch that - fishing is easy, too. Catching is hard. But is makes all the work worthwhile.

No, That's not actually me in my avatar. I had to find someone that didn't look quite as dumb as me. Strangly enough though, I do wear one of those hats most of the time. ..... Must be all those years I lived in Texas.... This would be me, sans the hat, pretty close resemblance though: Darlene |

Nice Shots Darlene!
I must confess, (help me Father Frank) I was moving your post to the "SeaCraft Photo" Section where it belongs with the other SeaCrafts on this site. I clicked the "Gathering" section by accident (My eyes were engaged) I flagged "Snookerd" To move it once more

Re: My SF 18 ....... Pics at last!
Darlene,
One thing you may have already figured out is that the compartment in the floor directly forward of the engine will fill with water off the deck if you take a wave over the bow or even while you are washing the boat. When I still had my 18' this was the single most frustrating aspect of that boat. I've spoken with people that have plumbed that compartment so they can pump the water out which would have been the next thing on my to-do list had I kept the boat. Some decent weather stripping may help but that "fish box" as I think it was called can be a real source of frustration when it comes to draining it. After years of scooping water out of that box while on my hands and knees, I made sure there were no compartments below the water line on my redone 20'. |

I seriously thought about putting an automatic bilge pump in there, but the little hand pump works so quick and easy, (and for about $20) that I figured I could better spend the ~$100 cost for the electric setup on other things. Maybe when I run out of other things that need to be done, I'll put in the automatic pump setup....... Darlene |

Darlene-
Way to stir up the forum with the photo album of sorts......My 18SF in deck live well was sealed with 5200 from the get-go. I have been using a Kodiak well under the leaning post/rocket launcher. Same kicker bracket and swim ladder set up as you.
