Default Question for guys on the Cape?

We are renting a house in West Dennis the last week of June to visit some family and to unwind. That means going to the beach for her-but, you guessed it, fishing for me.
Any tips even about general vicinities/tides for striper fishing would be great. I'd love to bring the SC, but I think I'll be limited to the 'yak, which should get me into some skinny water. Perhaps I'll try to get out on a 1/2 day charter if I can find a split. If not I'll settle for the beach and kayak-I like being resourceful.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated and dilligently followed

If you could get yourself to Scorton Creek with a fly rod, you shouldn't be disapointed. All size bass in there around that time. Plus it is a beautiful spot in the morning and late afternoon.

Never been to the area-where is that in relation to the mouth of the bass river? How you doin' with your withdrawals from selling the old girl? Did the new owner stay local?

It is in Barnstable, no more that 20 minutes or so from you. There is a small dirt road off of route 6A that is a great little spot. As you can see from me still lurking around here i am not completly over it. Yes the boat will be in welfleet i think, very good guy who i believe will take care of her. On the bright side only about 1 week until closing.

If the conditions are right you can find fish on Brewster Flats or in Barnstable Harbor.Bass will be feeding on sand eels.If wind is blowing from the north stay in West Dennis and try the Bass River.North side of the Cape can get rough for a small boat.

Oldfielder- pm me; if you can make it out to Nantucket for a day, I'll get you out for some awesome flats fishing. Might not be in a SeaCraft; probably my 18' Maritime skiff, but June is hot out here!

The flats on the inside of Monomoy island can produce some nice bass, they are about 8 mile further down the coast from the Bass river.Pick a nice day as the chop can get steep in the shallow water.Good luck!

you took your vacation 1 week too early, I will be taking the month of July off (Remind me to tell my boss). If you are still there in July, and I have my boat finished, I will be happy to take you fishing, we will be scouting for the commercial Bass Season, and maybe a few Tuna trips too, if the footballs are in.

I might be around the Cape then too.. Great place to take your yak would be down around the Observatory at Morris Island Chatham, up inside Pleasant bay - juicy fishing at end of June

West Dennis Beach is a good shore spot in May and June. Jetty at the end! I suggest a PM closer to when you visit. By then I should have some fish stories to share. Maybee others will chime in too.
