My products on MythBusters!! this April 18th
One of the companies I represent, Interface, Inc. www.interfaceforce.com (manf. of Load cells, devices that measure force very precisely) recently received an order from the production crew of the popular TV shows MythBusters. (I had nothing to do with the order btw)
I usually work with companies like Sikorsky, Pratt and Whitney, and Raytheon on spooky no tell govt. projects with this stuff so it is kind of cool to see this equipment on the big screen. MythBusters is going to use Interface to help bust the myth “Birds on a Truck" the episode is scheduled to air April 18th. The experiment is to utilize Interface Load Cells and weigh the truck with caged birds, and then weigh the truck while the birds are flying in the truck. The Myth to be Busted: Will birds in flight within the truck change the net weight vs. with the birds sitting in cages? hmmmmmm what do you think will the bust the myth? |

I have used one of your cells in a load meter for drawbars force in machine centers. Very accurate.
But it sounds like mythbusters is running out of ideas. Bird fly because they can support thier own wieght.

Get Lord Afro flapping his wings trying to fly with the birds, in the truck, on the show, and THEN I'll definitely make a point of watching
Well done Trayder |

Re: My products on MythBusters!! this April 18th
Jason,
I caught the show last night. The myth was busted - the trailer did not get any lighter. Pretty interesting stuff, but I have to be honest, the "bifurcated boat" segment was more interesting. Watching grown men intentionally try to split a boat down the middle by ramming it into a steel piling at 50mph is much more fun. |
