Default New tow truck for the SeaCraft

The Z71 had almost 174k on it and was tired......So far I am very pleased with the 2007 Dodge 2500 2wheel drive. I opted for the tried and true 5.9l Cummins w/auto trans. I'm not one to buy first year stuff so the new diesel was out for me. I got white w/grey cloth, SLT trim. Nothing fancy, but pulling power to spare!!!

That is the next thing on my list. My 99 Dodge with the 360
has 245000 on it, knock on wood other then the normal stuff to go wrong, it has been very reliable. She still has plenty of pulling power and has no fluid leaks of any kind.
A buddy of mine has a 2006 with diesel, he has been real satisfied so far. Lets see some "combo pics" Truck and SeaCraft in action!!
Good Luck with her, Ken

Still towing strong with my slightly modified 1996 Dodge diesel.. This is a link to one of my many upgrades to the old Dodge - new turbo and ATS manifold.. this was quite some time ago.. I have 257,000 on the clock and still pulling strong..

Good stuff FishJack!!! I read a lot on that site over the last few weeks. I pulled the boat last weekend and accidentally smoked the tires leaving a stoplight. I had one of these goin' on!

I don't think you will be disappointed with the Cummings engine.. Before my new turbo I installed the 370hp marine injectors and a 4K governor spring kit (running the bosh P7100 mechanical pump on my 12v) the EGTs would go through the roof if not careful.. the bigger turbo really helped with that problem.

I recently drove from MS down to Tarpon Springs, FL with a friend of mine to pick up his new 26ft Glacier Bay - hauled it back at between 70 and 75mph.. He has a two year old Z71 and admitted the other day that he thought he was going to "burn his truck up" trying to keep the Z71 and Glacier bay at about 65mph on the interstate...

If you have not already your should join the TDR and start keeping an eye on the posts there.. Great info and a great bunch of guys..

Best of luck..

Just bought my new tow truck, now all I need is a new boat!

2007 Tundra 5.7L, SR5/TRD suspension, 381hp, 401 lbs. torque, 10,600 lbs. max tow rating, not bad for a rice burner!
