Cam,
Way to go. Those Sheephead are a lot of fun. I kind of think of them as the blackfish of the south (not as smart & ticky as tyhe blackfish though IMO). Caught a bunch south of Jacksonville a couple of years ago. Where did you get them (Kiawah Island Reef or something like that)? Also, what was the bait of choice (clams or shrimps?) Peter

The sheepshead are the kings of stealing fiddlers off a hook though. Fishing those jetties can be tough.....do you stern anchor and toss a bow "stone" into the rocks to get close....or just fish farther out..??? It's got to be a pretty smooth day too....

I was "driving" the Yam. 250/Seacraft last night, drifting, no anchoring. She was fishing. The ticket is have a "bay" boat w/trolling motor. I've seen 11 lb. sheeps caught there. That's about 6 to a 48 qt. cooler.

And the secret is...N or S jetty...inside or outside...
![]() I've never done well on the N jetty. Best has always been on the S jetty... |

North side of North jetty, toward the ocean end. I think they're all over, sometimes that spot is better with the winds normally S and/or W.

nice sheepie ! try taking a hoe with you and scraping the piling or structure you are fishing to get em excited, seems to work for us up here. Peter, we catch both togs and sheepies at the same time in the same place, both fun fish to catch- they love those fiddlers too!!!!
