Default Beaufort trip

My wife and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary by boating from Chas. to Beaufort (5th time), staying in B&B a couple of days and back to Chas. We couldn't have ordered better weather!! It's about 56 miles one way in ICW through some of the most pristine country in the world! The ACE basin is a protected area that get's it's name from the 3 rivers that dump into it...the Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto. There are lots of bars/restaurants on the water front with some having live bands...all within walking distance..as in no car needed!! I love it!!

The ICW is really in need of dredging...this was 7' at low, Watts Cutt.

We made a pit stop at Morgan Is. to see the monkey's but nobody's home this time...

The Downtown Marina is very nice...

A couple of visitors...

Some local artists created these to be auctioned...

Interesting blow-boat...

They have completed renovations on the waterfront to include all brick walks and lots of swings...

Even the sunsets were perfect!!

The Rhett House Inn is our favorite...

Returning to Chas. we had to see this monster docked downtown....Looks like a private yacht but I'm not sure...

Excellent pictures! I loved Charleston when we lived there, so much to see and do, the ocean, 2 lakes, 3 rivers, the Oyster Festival, etc, etc, etc!

If you have links to the Rhett house post it....
That sounds like a trip I'll have to make with the significant other....

We prefer the "Cottage house" as opposed to the main house. You still go there for breakfast, etc. but the cottage rooms are more private w/porches. The upstairs/front room is best. Look for a package to save some $$$$$. Downtown Marina charges $1.65/ft., I prefer a slip closer to the Marina store. Luthers is decent food/atmosphere. Saltus is an excellent restaurant but a lot more $$$$$$$. Good luck!!
