Default Restoring a 23' 1977 Sceptre

How is the best way to remove the top cap? Looks relatively easy until you get to the transom. What is the best way to separate at the transom? I want to inspect the transom for replacement during the restoration.

Outboard model you'll have to do some cutting. It's resin/cabosiled to the outside skin around the outboard cutout, plus the livewell and splash guard are attached.
