Seacraft pricing

Hello, What is a ballpark price for a classic 20sf with good original gel coat, no modifications.... No soft spots or cracking and 20" transom with an old but good Evinrude on it?
Is 200 hp too much for this boat? I see its rated for 175 max. It must burn a load of fuel.
This is quick but if it's good ..... What the hell.

Looks good, If everything is original, I would say you probably could count on a transom redo sooner or later.
The 200 may be a bit heavy causing you to have to plug the scuppers while drifing. Alot of others on the site have 200's on them though.

I would gues 4-6 thousand but without really looking at it that is a big guess.

If you use the search function you will find many answers to your questions, they have been covered numerous times.
Be sure to set the pameters newer than 5 years instead of 1 week.

Thanks Bryan. The range of pricing is a bit wide from what I see and depends greatly on what the buyer is looking for.
I would like to start a project from as close to original as possible.
This boat may give me the chance to use it a while before a restore and transom re config.
What do you think of a T top? I believe I see more without than with on the 20'. I like to fish..... would t tops be in the way? I guess the boat will roll more and drift differently with it. Looks nice but I need functionality. Will it cool me enough or keep the rain off me? How often would I be bored enough to need that comfort? I'm a good fisherman (LOL).

Where are you? that has a lot to do with pricing: up North things seem to cost more. In Florida, SC20's can be had fairly inexpensively if you are patient.

T-tops are a matter of personal preference: I've had a t-top on both my SeaCraft 18' and 20' - and I primarily fly fish so I'm not in the camp that thinks they cause problems....but some folk find they can't cast with a top on a boat. Once again, latitude highly affects opinion on this matter: Summer in South Florida is a bit different than in New England.

Hello Ikan Besar, I'm in New York and yes things are more expensive on average.
I never seem to catch those calm days and I worry about drift and roll mostly with a T top. Your right I should be able to cast with the Top.
Our summers cant compare. You need some protection.

In my case, about 4K for a 1976 hull; 4.8K if I wanted the engine that was on it. Those numbers are for a one owner, fresh water boat that I bought in November of '05 . Since then, I've put another 10K +/- into the boat (new transom-raised to 25", new fuel tank and hoses, new power, gauges and rigging, new steering, all new wiring, deck hardware, etc.).
