Default Tabbing Cap to Interliner- Pros/Cons.

I am trying to complete the fiberglass work on my '77 23 cc
and was wondering what the advantaages and disadvantages are to tabbing the top cap to the interliner . I currently have it secured with #10 machine screws with 1" washers and nylocks every 8".I will also be using 3M 5200 at the joints. I have read ( I think) in the past that
tabbing it gives the boat a more solid feel. If I do tab it , I plan on 4 one foot strips on each side using 4" 1708
Biaxle tape. Opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
CJR
