Stopped by a buddies Yamaha store and he had a 350hp on a 23 Grady White and also had one in the box. I asked the price and he advised 24K without a prop, controls or gauges!
WOW!!

can't you just see a few re-powers going bad (transom not beefed-up well enough)with the weight and torque on those monsters? I bet those motors sink real fast............

I think the 300 Suzuki is the most impressive with it's fuel sipping and power over 50mph. That 2550 Bluewater Thread on both Florida Sportsman's Forum and THT is eye opening considering the 23SC would be slightly better due to less size.

Snookered I agree with the 300 suzuki as well and looks to be the perfect repower for a 23 if you go the 4 stroke route. The Yamaha 350 makes the Verado's horsepower to weight ratio look good as well.
I still want to see someone re-power with a Merc 300SX! I bet those numbers would be fantastic and still a light weight package. |

I was thinking the same thing about the 300 suzuki. I wonder if they recommend Hi-test like the Verado?? something to consider. I bet the 23s would run very nicely with a 300 zuki and the approx 610 lbs. sounds good. I wonder if they really get 3.8 miles to the gallon at optimum cruise as the Suzuki official website says. If so, that certainly beats my 225 opti.
