Default New Seacraft Owner with some questions

Hey folks - Gotta say this website is what prompted me to buy my project. I just got a 1980 20' Master Angler...I know very little about boats other than to run em. I found this one and it just grabbed me ($3500 with the motor---did I get robbed). I researched on this site and others and decided to buy it to fix up. A couple of questions:
-Where can I get new or refurbed nameplates, spec plates, SeaCraft decals etc? Mine are worn, broken or missing.
- This has a 150 Merc on it (1980 model I think). From other posts this sounds OK. TN is going (eventually) to no 2 strokes but will grandfather existing...should I look to keep this, go up to a 175 2 stroke before the law changes or go 4 stroke (what size)? What kind of cruising/top end can I expect from the 150?
- I have several soft spots around the deck (hull is solid). Can I cut around the gutter and lift the deck off in one piece to repair?

Again, I am a rookie at this. I live on Ft Loudon lake, have a pontoon, a CraigCat and a jet ski but couldn't resist adding this to my "Fleet." Thanks!

Aha! The truth comes out!

So is the boat all original? You say it has a soft deck? Get some pictures up.

Thanks,

Rich

Seems to be...got some patches on the corners etc, original steering wheel and windshield etc. I will get some pics when it stops raining in Knoxville.

Here is a link to that thread about the 1970's-80's vinyl decalsfrom last year. Send a private message to 65bowrider on the classic stainless version from the 60's era. My sign shop has the template. The Ebay ones are slightly more "bold"than my original version. The Ebay logo is different too. Here is the link SC Name and Logo Decal Thread

You have all sorts of choices on this website... the decals and also the Stainless Steel emblem.
Here's a link for the latest on the emblems ...

Hopefully within 3 weeks, the new "run" will be completed.

Congrats on your new boat ... now you have the CSC fever.
