electrical setup
Hi guys
Question should i connect the neg of the of the battery to the ttop Why my friend are scare of the lightings is that dangerous in a boat? thanks |

NO NO, Not to the negative on the battery !!!
All metal should be bonded to a grounding plate on the bottom of the boat. IE: Bow rails, rod holders, Out Rigger holders, T-Tops... You get the picture. Usually 10 gauge tin coated copper wire to every locatation mentioned above, then to the Bronze bonding plate. See ya, Ken

You might want to check this out. this guy David Pascoe covers many subjects and is a good starting point in getting yourself educated as to how systems work the way they do and some of the pitfalls of the untrained attempts of well meaning boat owner/repairmen who try to do the right thing, but just don't know what they need to to do the job right.
