Re: 23 seacraft classic vs. tracker made
The replys I have been getting so far are the design is pretty much the same the production methods are different. Older hulls hand made newer hulls assembly line production

Re: 23 seacraft classic vs. tracker made
I THINK Tracker Marine took over in '87.

The hull, design, and materials stayed the same. The labor and rigging went up and down, the rigging mostly down since 1986. I have seen good and bad potter and tracker boats, I haven't seen a bad csy or mosely era boat, but that may be because there aren't many of those around. Whatever you do, if your not sure what your looking at, get a servey done on it. |

Re: 23 seacraft classic vs. tracker made
Before 1972 . . . Hulls had 4 digit serial numbers . . . so they do not have SEC in their HIN numbers. They will have been assigned one from the state where they were first registered unless that state supports 4 digit hin numbers.

Re: 23 seacraft classic vs. tracker made
I would agree to the point they were heavier than they needed to be. Now on the other hand if you wanted to get in a fight with a dock or seawall that was good
They are the same hull and nobody has had any issues, most guys come out and say they love the new ones. There was 1 early 25 that was a nightmare for whatever reason, not sure of the real story as there are 2 sides always but that was 10 yrs ago.

Re: 23 seacraft classic vs. tracker made
Thanks for all the info on the history. I am looking at a 1989 23 CC and wanted to make sure that the boat, all things being equal, was as good as the earlier models.
