Default 1974 SeaCraft 23 looking for previous owner.

I was looking for the previous owner to my boat. I bought it 2006 in Southern Maryland Calvert Co. from the Snapp-on man. He did not have much history of the previous owner and I was woundering if anyone who enjoys this site recognizes this boat. All the best Tom [image]http://s407.photobucket.com/albums/pp158/maxnme5/?action=view&current=DSC_0028.jpg[/image]

Welcome to the site , and glad to have another member in the AB/Morehead City area. I used to keep my boat over in Hoop Hole creek , but we ended up selling the place .I ran into a family from Maryland the weekend of Oct. 18th.@ The Anchorage Marina . it was a very cold and rainy weekend. Was that you? If I remember there were 2 small children and 4 adults and the boat was a 23 outboard .

Yes that was us. I have started the process of fixing the transum and adding a bracket the work is being done in Harkers Island by Walt Guthrie at Sea Skimmer boat works. I believe you told me that you had some trouble with self bailing and would like to have raised your bracket.

Glad to know that was u. Your boat was in fantastic shape for the yr. I believe u said that there really had not been much renovation . The problem I have with the scuppers is normal as you will see when navigating this website. There are many posts as to set back for the motor mounting and design of the bracket,i.e., flotation. My problem with rear weight is many fold. Also I will eventually switch from downward drainage to thru the transom and out the rear. Are you living in Carteret Co. ? I have several co workers that have been watermen all there life. There connections to the boating community are invaluable and could be a great benefit to you.I see that you are using locals on Harkers Island , my friends are from the Atlantic/ Sea Level area.Send me a PM if you would like some more info. These guys are original to the area.Last names are tied to all regions of Carteret Co.,still watermen and boatbuilders.
