Default rubrail

wandering if any body has a used 50" piece of seacraft rub rail or if any body knows where i can buy a piece. sombody put a rub rail from a 23 outboard on my boat.I just recently sanded & re-gel coated the transome and discovered that my boat originally had twinn out drives. I have only seen one other 23 with twin io,s and that one happens to be on this site for sale and right next door to me.just wandering if any body had any input.

I have a 78 Sceptre and I replaced the rub rail a few years ago when I re-did the boat. I may have the old rub rail in a box somewhere in my shop...I will look and see if I can find it. If I can find it I'll send you a piece....My boat had twin I/O's and was converted to single I/O by the previous owner in 1988. He says the boat was a slug with the twin 4 cyls and the conversion was the best thing he ever did for the boat. He said you would have to have ridden in it with the twins to appreciate how much better the boat performs with the single engine. (Volvo 290 drive w/ Chevy 350 @260 hp). The big engine box restricts the cockpit space some but there is plenty of room to work on everything.

Jon2002,

I'm not trying to jump this guys thread, so by all means send it to him, but if you have some left over would you mind sending me a small section of just the insert? I'm missing 4 of rub rail insert. I would gladly pay shipping.

I've looked for the insert and have not been able to find a short length of it yet, besides, a section of new rub rail would look outta place on my 30+ year old boat.

Thanks for your consideration.

I'll be going to look for the old rub rail tomorrow and I'll let you know if I still have it. I also have the old bimini top that is in good condition and a pair of gunwale mounted outriggers if anyone is interested in them.

Sorry guys....it looks like the rub rail got trashed. No one in the shop seems to know what happenened to it. Oh well...I guess it's my fault for trying to keep the place from getting too junked up. As far as the outriggers, I'm not sure what brand they are but I think they are 12' long. They are one piece poles with an elbow on each end. I would prefer to keep them together as a set (Poles and bases) if someone is interested in them let me know.(Eastern Shore-Salisbury, MD)

I actually looked at the outriggers today....they are 16'! The bases are 1 1/4" Perko and kinda corroded. The poles are in really good shape though (still rigged). I have no idea what they might be worth, if interested make an offer! I doubt if I would be able to ship them anywhere because of the length. No one interested in an original top? It is the kind that snaps to the windshield and has a hole that can be opened so the driver can stand up through the top. It folds back and has a boot that it wraps up in. There's a picture in the 1974 brochure that looks like it (on a red boat).
