I want Peter and Finster to show up, they could even come on the same plane - plenty of warning

When the hell is the full moon of Oct - I guess I have to check, it does make an island much nicer and actually pretty fricken awesome

Did it give you too little tongue weight ?? should just be able to move the winch stand a few inches forward rather than the axle

I have a roller trailer..so Don moved it as far forward as possible after installation of bracket...still light tounge weight..I've been following post regarding other trailer issues.....mabey replace w/ bunks...I dont know...would love to get it working right...still can pull out of ramp ok(have 4 wheel drive) just bounces rear of vehicle like hell when I hit bumps etc. so afraid of going cross state..guess I should take some time and adjust it??????

Fred - if your trailer is an EZ Loader like mine, you should be able to move the axle +-about 4'! The springs are attached to a steel angle bracket about 4' long; trailer frame sits on top of the angle brackets. To adjust, so just loosen the U-bolts clamping bracket to frame, chock trailer wheels, hook up to truck and pull trailer forward relative to axle. I moved my axle aft about 7" and that gave me about 160 lbs on the tongue which seems to work fine. Only problem was the flexible line for the brakes between axle and frame; had to get a longer line. When I tow to these gatherings, I usually have a fair amount of stuff in the cabin and I put my 70 cooler full of ice/food/drinks in the stepdown to keep it from sliding around, so actual tongue wt is probably closer to 200 lbs.

Thanks Denny, I will try it this weekend....hopefully that will work. My trailer is just like yours except single axle with manual winch. Would love to be able to tow vehicle to gathering or even down to your part of the woods. Right now I am very limited with the way it is set up. Good idea regarding "ballast"for towing!!

I have a Tragic Trail trailer now under my Seafari, but used to have a single axle EZ Loader for 17-19' boats. I had about 120 lbs of tongue weight with the rolling carriage shifted all the way back. Like you Denny, I learned that whenever I was going any distance, I always had a ton of stuff to bring along. So I just stuffed it all into the cabin to add tongue weight. The back of my Jeep G.Cherokee would be nearly empty, as it was all in the boat! I never weighed it, but I probably averaged 200 lbs +.
