Lake Powell Trip
Been a while since I posted any pictures. These pics are from our June 08 trip to Lake Powell. We towed the SeaCraft to Vegas and spent the night at the resort connected to Bass Pro shop, we gambled, shopped, and then the next day we made the rest of the trip to Lake Powell. The wind blew over 50mph our first night. We were parked at the end of a very large canyon which acted like a wind funnel. I had to put the house boats 2 very large anchors on the up wind side of the house boat. It was touch and go for while and you could have played a tune on the 1 inch nylon anchor lines. It only lasted for a couple hours and then the weather was great for the rest of our 5 day trip.
father and son in our 1969 classic Seacraft our house boat There were all kinds of cool canyons to explore... some were very narrow The boat proved perfect for towing behind the house boat and it worked great for exploring the far away reaches of the lake Family shot There were all kinds of big rocks that the boat wanted to pose with..... who was I to say no? The bimini top works great! the white froth you see in the water in some of the pics is carp sperm... I let everyone swim in it for a while before I told them what it was. Kicking back strick

Re: Lake Powell Trip
Wow, amazing pictures Chuck.....Great family time in a one of a kind location, on a totally custom 20SF. I remember hearing when living in Colorado, that Lake Powell was a huge vacation spot for boating. Thanks for sharing! How is that 130 working out?

Re: Lake Powell Trip
Chuck- while we were waiting for the timer to go off on the camera I had 4 big red ants chewing on my leg! I managed to keep the smile somehow....my kids and Lisa were laughing at me when I showed them the ants holding on to me like mini Pit bulls.
Snookered- I was a great place for a family vacation. If I were to go back it would be in the Fall and during the week. I'm told not very many people up there in the Fall. We were all alone in our private cove for 2 days then we got invaded by a large house boat with 3 families on board jet ski's everywhere. The 130 is running great...I love that motor. The boat has been sitting for 6 months because we have been busy with a room addition/remodel to the house and it fired right up on the first crank the other day. strick
