Propeller Question
Any input on a propeller, 3-blade vs. 4-blade, size etc. for an inboard seacraft 23' repowered with 350 MPI? Boat weighs approximately 4,000lbs. Thanks.

Re: Propeller Question
you have perfect timing. I am playing with props right now and keep the boat in Falmouth. I have a 350mpi as well with a 1.51 transmission and a 16/17 wheel. My performance sucks so I brought up to the top and could only turn 4340. I sent the prop out and they are taking off some pitch and adding a cup, I will be going for a seatrial on Saturday morning. I would love to talk to you about what performance you are getting etc... Mine has been dog and I need to wake it up. My cell is 508-208-0149.

Re: Propeller Question
I'm all ears. I'm always looking to improve my performance and economy. Since there doesn't seem to be many of us inboards out there - information is tough.

Re: Propeller Question
Hello,
I have a SEACRAFT inboard and my good friend Criag Miles (MILES OFFSHORE) also, Craig tried one and did not like it, another friend with a SEEVEE 25' has one (still talking four blade) and he indicates also that it was really nothing to brag-on. I'm at 757-408-3082 Cell daytime only.

Re: Propeller Question
I have only had her for just short of a year - so I'm not "up close and personnal" with all aspects yet. Since the prop pushes the boat in the direction I want it to - it is pretty far down the list.
I have a 3 blade wheel and yesterday I was doing 32 mph @ 3800. I don't know the gearing or why I was only getting 3800 out of her, but I never run her hard anyway. I'll look today at the ratio. My main concern is the fuel economy. Right now I can do 20mph at just over 8gph with a carbureted 350. |
