Default 1997 Merc 3.0 225hp

Anybody had any experience with this motor? Am looking at a 23 cc with this setup. I have never been a Mercury fan but the hull is sweet. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I had a 99 3.0 225 on my 23 Sceptre. It was a reliable powerful easy to maintain motor but it loved to suck down the fuel.It used alot of oil too.I got tired of feeding the beast and went with a Suzuki 250 4stroke.

I used to have a 98 250 efi on a Sceptre with a big top. It pushed it ok, but it sucked down gas and oil.
