Default 1972 SF 20'

Have always admired the classic lines of Seacrafts. Finally purchased a 1972 SF 20' as a project boat. The hull is in good shape but needs to be stripped and refinished. The deck is a little rough but is repairable. The boat needs to be re-wired and re-fitted. The gas tank is located under the CC, will be relocating it below deck. Plan to close-in the transum and mount the motor on a bracket. Also, need a motor. Looking for a Merc 150-200. I normally do all work myself.

Looking forward to trolling the waters of So. FL. with my black Lab. in about a year.

Dan

Pictures would be nice. Got any? Also plan to post pictures as you go on your rebuild. We all learn from everyone else's experiences! Welcome!

Since I just went thru shopping around on the motor front from drop-on PH's to complete motors I did find one interesting. Not sure what the budget is but found a 150 Mariner 1988 carbed - low hours and very clean - been in my buddy's shop on consignment for 2 yrs+ - I was maybe just going to buy it and drop it on mine. I figured out a way to fix mine short of a full rebuild, I think it could be had for somewhere around 1200. Could use some paint on the cowel but it ain't bad but I would have, and made it look new.

Sent (2) pics to admin for posting. They are from seller. Will post start and progress pics. Repairs planned to start in late Spring. Finishing a 19' Key West project now. Need a motor for that project (100-150hp).
