Default A Pilots History

Thank you Carla/65Bowrider!

Your father is a truly accomplished man in many fields. As a young lad, he sailed solo to Bimini in a very small sailboat with only a compass, an understanding of the tradewinds and the Gulfstream.
A scant couple of degrees of variation at that distance could have ended quite badly. I guess they call it dead reckoning for good reason.

War changes men and women in many profound ways, and how could it not.

I was amazed by his stone cold recollections after these many years. His writing style is accomplished and understated, just as I enjoy most.

I was introduced to Steinbeck, Faulkner, and Fitzgerald
in seventh grade. Vonnegut and Brautigan as well. I didn`t understand writing until I read Hemmingway. It was only then, that all of my teacher`s critiques started to clear. Speak of the story, the emotion, and the humanity.

Carl and Jeanne have that gift as well as many others, and I thank you for including all of us.

Folks: Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. Mine`s going across the pond to my Nephews {On Loan!}. I finshed it before Carla got the check.

Cheers,
GFS

Send a PM to Carla/65Bowrider. If there's enough demand maybe she can arrange a sencond printing. It's a great story of a remarkably talented, wise and resourceful man - definitely worth reading! Really makes you appreciate what the guys went through in WWII also! Denny

Ryan,
Because I did sell out of my supply before the holidays, when I went to see my Dad, I nabbed some of the ones he had purchased. I now have 5 more copies of the Hard Cover book.
They are not autographed and may take a month or so before I'll see him again for signing.
Your choice to get it now or wait a month or so for it to be signed.
If you're interested in one of the 5 books, please let me know asap.
Thanks for the nice comments Sandy.
Moesly has had an incredible life and I learned so much about his early days when reading his book.
Cheers to all,
Carla
