Default Friday, Feb 5 Cod Slaughter at Montauk

Went up to Montauk late Thursday with Stoney and another friend. We went out at 3am Friday on the Susie E2. There were a total of eight fisherman on the boat.

We anchored up at 6am and never had to make another move. Everyone easily limited out and we called it a day by 10:45am. Clams outproduced jigs. We had two periods of lock and load fishing (from 6am to 7am and from 9am to 10am.)

Nothing huge today but it was still lights out fishing.

Also, it never laid down as much as the forecast had predicted.

Here are some pictures from yesterday's slaughter.

One of our victims with some bait

Some of the tubs of cod. Remember that we had just eight guys fishing.

A small pile of the end product

Pictures of my friends' Dan and Rich (Stoney) holding up some of the smaller Cod.

Here is a very unflattering picture of me resting up for the long drive home

Thanks Dan.

Pool fish may have been 15 pounds.

They are hoping that the big females show up very soon last year. These are the 20 to 40 pound babies that they naild last February.

If you happen to hit it again, let me know. I'm looking to get out there.

Forecast looks a little dicey for the middle of the week.I'm actually heading to Fla. next week, but after that I'm in. Hope the bite holds up.
