The FRA ia local grassroots group started in St Pete, they are just regular guys like us - but one is an attorney. You may or may not have heard of them but they going to DC to try and get us some relief from the NMFS. They are the ones that sued and won in the Red Grouper issue in '04 and currently have another suit pending on GOM Red Snapper - they will file shortly for the East Coast. Help them out by signing the petition at least, a donation would also be appreciated as they fund this mostly themselves, there are no major corp sponsors.
I have seen them in action at hearings and they are very good at stating their points and attend and even web cam most meetings. A thankless job but somebody has to do it http://www.thefra.org/fishingmatterstome.htm

I have to say these guys got me to go to my first hearing with the Red Grouper fiasco and they were good - the attorny is a diver and does this pro bono - good guys, send them some money if you can like $20- they go everywhere and are on some advisory panels - they even set up web cams in case you can't go. Just good honest guys
