Part I and myself killed some time on Friday. Not very impressed but after years of attending really did not have very high expectations (Bud Light is still $5 a bottle). Did get to finally meet F and B Boatworks, a local father and two sons operation that I assume most of us drooled over a little over a year or so ago. A very nice refurbed 20 in ice blue and some very cool cabinetry and helm work.
Actually what caught us both off guard was at the Key West booth. Tommy and I have logged A LOT of hours on another buddies 196 bay boat inshore fishing, shrimping and booze cruising. Stopped in to ask some questions about his poor tire wear and possibly incorrect trailer match to this hull. Anyhoo, met a factory rep (manufacturing plant in Somerville (Charleston) South Cackalacki). They have come out with a late 2009 and now, 2010 24 CC with some serious bow flare and an interesting hull design. While talking about how this hull seems to enjoy slop I get bored and find our local dealership salesman to discuss my bud's tire wear issues, leaving my brother to inquire more about this $60K boat. Remember, we're both firefighters. Ten minutes later, my brother and I meet back up to return to the beverage stand. Tommy says, "Hey, that guys got a SeaCraft at home upside down and his family has lost interest in the refurb." What else could I say? "Bud or Bud Light?" Part II. |
