I just completed my sleeping platform for the bow of the 20. Not sure if anybody has an interest but I can provide all the details but it would be long. It is quite nice as I tried it out in the nice weather we are having for a change. This will allow us to go more places that don't have spots to pitch a tent and will certainly be cheaper. This would come in very handy on a Bahamas trip which I have thought of by eliminating the need for a room every night and more exploring.
As a teaser its approx double bed size, cut it down a wee bit from Queen. Breaks down in to 2 pieces approx 30" X 36" and therfore will slide in under the console flat when not in use. With my system its takes approx 10 minutes to assemble and disassemble, this was the tough part - clearing out the console will take longer LOL I have not completed the roof enclosure yet, I have picked the material and will use the T top and come up with a stantion for the front, that part is under consideration.

Yeah ESD,
Definitely like to hear more about it. Pics would be good too. I've seen some interesting adaptations by the BW guys... What material did you choose to use on the convertible cuddy?

You mean what I'm going use as a shelter? - I got this stuff at HD to make more shade in the summer - its like a mesh and you can get plastic grommit kits right there. I haven't done that yet, as almost haven't seen the sun in months but might end up using the same piece for both front and back. They have some on their web site but didn't find the same ones in the store. That would handle dew and if it really rained I was going to carry a cheap blue tarp.
Susan just got home and under duress was talked into trying it out - approved, although she wants to walk on it now which would entail removable outside legs, we'll see I had thought about some. Note : I went brain dead and have changed the measurements in the above post - its 30" wide x 2 so 60" total assembled. I will get a parts list together, so 1 trip to Ace Hardware will do it, as bolt lengths are important and a piece of plywood from HD, I'll get the exact stuff as wieght is an issue - a drill and sabre saw and your good to go. I'll include pic's as showing assemblet and stuff. I actually designed all the details and minor aspects while laying in the radiation machine, was a nice distraction and actually it all came together almost exactly as planned but cutting the wood was much easier than anticipated- I had plenty of time LOL Really ready for springtime now baby

this may work for the spots there is no island to pitch a tent on - Marco has a good spot but Ft Myers there not letting you set up camp in front of the condo's LOL Thats quite a trip but plenty of waterfront motels if you want to take a break
I will get the camera out and post some pic's and kinda walk everybody through it - should be done in an afternoon including the the trip to Ace- I've done all the thinking a re-thinking. I plan on runs down to Captiva but there is no place to camp down there like up my way. Keewaden Is. at Marco is a great place to stay, we had a timeshare there but spent all our time out there.

Its done - I did add 2 legs which does make it more stable and you can step on it so makes easier to move around the boat, it now requires a tool - flathead screw driver or a dime. Also finished up the cover today, so will get out the camera and do a post to cover all of it. How about a video?? although I have no idea how to post one anybody? That way I could demonstate the assembly easier and expalin any little items I found during construction. I will say, with having all the parts - nuts and screws the whole thing could be done in a day, even the top cover which was too easy. The weather is just starting to get nice enough to go out and work on it, damn, feel like I live in MA or NJ
