Default Adding ballast

Any thoughts on what is the best way to add some ballast to the stern of my Tsunami. I've added a hardtop and a hermco bracket and now it's sitting a little bow heavy which prevents the deck from draining as well as I'd like. The addition of the hardtop makes the boat a bit more tippy too. I'm thinking since i have to add some weight anyway, maybe I can help with that as well.

I could add the weight in the bracket tub but I'd feel more comfortable with it in the hull than in the tub. Of course that probably means I'll need more weight right?

I'm not doing anything until the winter but I'd like to start thinking about some ideas now so I can test the weight in different spots.

I'm also wondering if anyone has ideas on what to use for weight and how to secure it.

Default Re: Adding ballast

depending on where you want to put it - the bags of lead shot that the skeet/trap shooters/re-loaders use are very versatile and are friendly to hull materials - and dont bang around. 30 pound bags are the standard. I have used these bags to fine tune a few boats now.
I too am having trouble dialing in my 1978 23 SC center console. I have an Armstrong bracket and twin 150's. It is a little tippy and also having some prop issues with slippage etc. I keep working on it but cant seem to get it right.
I am going to start a diff thread of my own here and on THT and see if I can get some ideas.
Good luck
