The previous owner started the tear out about 2 years ago then lost interest. My plan is to dig out all the foam in the stringers, replace it and glass the tops back on. Then using composite board replace the transom. I have not decided on composite or wood floor yet. (I have allot of glass work before that)

My T top, leaning post and console will be used off my mako along with the 225 Oceanpro for now. I am not sure if this is enough HP for one of these hulls?? The Mako is a completely different hull design, and I saw 45 with 3 guys and 80gal of fuel on board, but it was a FLAT calm day.

I am also kicking around closing the transom in and a single bracket setup. I figure later on I could put a newer 250 or 300 on there, instead of twins.

That boat has some history here on CSC one of the member's here and on Classicmako.com "Trydent" was the broker for the original owner, likely a few owners ago, 4 or so years ago? Your evinrude 225 will be fine for this hull with or without a bracket.

There is no need to rip open the stringers to replace the foam. The foam is not structural and is only there to form the glass stringers. As long as the stringers are solid and attached firmly to the hull and transom you are fine.

Were on the cape are you? I grew up in Truro on fisher's beach and I still launch out of the Pamet in the late fall.

Talk about some history! I saw a 23' SeaCraft @ Wildfire a couple of years ago. The deck had been ripped open from Customs/DEA. The story was the user had cut a hole in the deck straight thru into the stringers approx the same area exposed in the above photo. Both Port & Stbd stringers were utilized. They then manged to take out the foam as far forward as they could. The cavity was used to smuggle cocaine. (approx 10" dia pie plate was used to conceal the holes)

When you get a chance, would you stand that console up and snap a picture? Looks interesting.

The guy I bought it from had it for about 4 years. He bought it stripped with no motor and no T top. The floor was soft where the T top was bolted and the transom was soft too. That is what started the whole tear out. He started to dig the foam out of the stringers to see if it was wet, well even if it wasnt back then, it is now. From what I can see they are attached well, ill know more after I clean it up some.

The console is something like I have never seen before. Its gota have 200lb of wood on it. I think I am going to sell it if anybody is interested.

I am also working on more pictures

Trayder swing by some time, I live behind the drive in on the Eastham Welfleet town line right on the main road, cant miss the boats in the yard.

Yep I know how that was.

I am looking for the hatch that covers the large fish box just below the casting platform. I have heard rumors of somebody re-poping them in MA somewhere?
Anybody got a name?

Wildman,

Its pretty easy to lay up one of your own on a table. I did the ice box lid hatches in back and I have limited skill . Strick pops these things out while he sleeps....just check out his procedure.
