Default 18 SeaCraft engine height

Hello all. Looking for starting height while mounting 2008 new in crate Suzuki 140 4S. 1995 OMC 150 was second hole from top but did not note how far A/V plate was above the keel. My brother is under the impression that the new engine is only 6 lbs heavier, which I have not confirmed yet.

1986 SeaCraft 18 25" transom. Both batteries under removable storage boxes at transom, and he is not interested in moving them under the small console. Uses ping pong type scuppers and is happy with performance.

Thanks. Vezo, Part II.

My av plate is 2" above the keel with an omc sst prop. At one point it was 2 3/4" but the motor got hot. I had to keep it less than an inch with my michigan apollo prop. Some props must like more air. That old style sst is the best prop I've tried. Holds on and tracks straight.
150 Johnson by the way.

Thanks Red. Was guessing 1.5". Dealer set him up with a 21" Suzuki 3 blade but that doesn't sound right to me. I'm thinking 19. We'll see. Thanks again. Part II.

That sst is a 15 x 15. I only hit about 40 but it feels like low range 4 wheel drive when it gets snotty out there

Rich,
Thanks, as always. I just can`t swing the Mirage +, even though it is supposed to be for a V6. It`s 15.380x17p. Bigshrimpin is right though it bites like a Rottie.

My spark plugs are still shiny too!
Cheers,
GFS

Yeah, that 6 pounds has been biting me, Thanks Bigs. I already tried the two battery move to the console but he's fighting me more than his %!&$. Now the 46 pounds rear the ugly head! All to boot, after hanging the new engine today, 4th hole from top (out of five!) and still comfortably using the 'universal slot', A/V plate is barely one inch above keel! AAAAArgh! That's a lot of drag AND a lot of draft! Almost pulled the 24 # manual jack plate off my project BW 15 project just to fine tune. Another 5.5" setback. NOT! Part II.

Oh! And Plug and Play is GREAT! Isn't it? Thanks guys for the help.
