Ok I understand the $25 fee for listing a boat. What is the problem with looking for a boat?? Just curious, it would seem to me that this is the PERFECT place to look for a boat??? Maybe not...

OK, these rules have been posted many times over the years. Here it is again. Jason please chime in if you wish .....

The rules were set in place by "Trayder" the Admin and founder of the site. He monitors the $25 required fees. Sometimes it takes a few days as he is busy and does not monitor the incoming $$ every day. He has several of us "mods" that between us all try to view and edit posts on a daily basis. We operate on the 'Honor System'. Sometimes people mail a check and it takes a few days for the site to get it. They send a PM to the admin with notification of their intentions. We give leeway time and if they fail, then the ad gets whacked.

Example: This lastest one, the guy comes on with his first 2 posts without any introduction and breaks the forum rules by placing his want ad. I guess we are supposed jump right out and look for a boat for him? Send him some leads like Craigslist & eBay ? NO WAY.

Now, think about this. There are hundreds of people that surf these boating & fishing forums without ever logging on and contribute nothing. Many of them might be surfing Craiglist & eBay. They have a boat for sale and without paying the listing fee contacts the guy that just posted his 'Want Ad' and they work a deal between themselves. This would be unfair to the people that do contribute to the welfare of this Classic SeaCraft site and to the ones that have paid their listing fee in good faith.

This site is NOT The Hull Truth. We have a unique group of people that enjoy their SeaCrafts and contribute many good ideas and help for the other members.

I hope this answwers your questions...

Chuck nailed it.

The site runs on the money from the for sale ads

"Want to buy" post can bypass the ads members paid for

Simple as that

Never been an issue for close to 10 years

The fee is only for listing a boat

If you want to buy one use the search feature

It is true there are alot of good members on here and if they have been on here a while they will understand that 25 dollar fee to talk to pros on these boats is nothing. So whomever is tryin to get a freebee on here for professional advice, and WTB ads, go somewhere else this isn't the site for you. Times are tough, band width doesn't come for free.
